I have been researching my family history for over 10 years as a serious passion. Before that, I have always been greatly intrigued with my ancestry, particularly after my mother hired a professional genealogist in the UK to trace her parents family tree.

As a child, I loved hearing family stories from both of my grandmothers (I was usually the captive audience of the family) and this really was the catalyst for my lifelong interest in family history. My maternal grandmother's stories particularly piqued my curiosity well into adulthood.

I have long had an obsession with reading biographies and memoirs as well as historical fiction and ghost stories. I also love reading non-fiction books about social history, world war history and local history. Through my love of reading over the years, I have developed a keen interest in writing my own novels, short stories and memoirs.

In 2004 I wrote my first family history book for my mother, aunt and uncles as a Christmas present. All were so enthralled with it, I couldn't stop there. I have since "published" a second edition in 2012.

I am currently working on my first novella. This has been 4 years in the making, and I would like to finish it sometime in the near future as I have many more stories bubbling away in my head. Unfortunately, due to having way too many passions, my time has to be shared and divided between them all. My self-confidence could also do with a major "leg-up"!
